How do you use sensorial effects as a storytelling tool in VR and what theories can you lean towards? Maria Herholdt Engermann and Signe Ungermand, founders of the awards-winning VR production house MANND, invites you to journey within the mindset of creating sensorial VR experiences with a story that audiences take to heart. Several of their projects, covering titles such as Separate Silences and X-Ray Fashion, have been exhibited at some the largest A-ranked film festivals across the world, and this presentation will explore different storytelling methods and embodiment theories used within their work.

Wenn Digitalisierung positive Auswirkungen haben soll für künftigen Wohlstand, für ökonomisches Wachstum und für demokratische Teilhabe, dann wird sich vor allem in der schulischen Bildung, in der Wissenschaft und in der Kultur als dem identitätsstiftenden und -bewahrenden Element einer Gesellschaft entscheiden, ob dies gelingt. Die Kulturelle Infrastruktur wird in Zukunft mehr und mehr digitale Anwendungen benötigen. Dafür wollen wir sensibilisieren, Projekte inititieren und helfen, die richtigen Netzwerke zu knüpfen.

Die digitale Transformation funktioniert nicht linear. Sie kann nur vernetzt betrachtet und gestaltet werden. Das ist eine große kulturpolitische Chance, weil gemeinsames Agieren bedeutet, Kompetenzen und Produkte miteinander zu nutzen und vor allem Synergien zu entwickeln und neue Handlungsspielräume zu gewinnen. Dies zu vermitteln und zu unterstützen, wird künftig eine wichtige Aufgabe des Zentrums für Digitalisierung und Kultur in der Schleswig-Holsteinischen Landesbibliothek sein.

Blurred Reality is a term for a futuristic vision of the world, where we combine technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Virtual & Augmented Reality (XR). These technologies will shape the internet of the future and the way we interact with the digital world. We will all have a personal assistant (AI). All our belongings and doings will be registered through sensors (IoT) and we will no longer be depending on screens to access the internet, but carry it with us all the time with (XR).

In this presentation we will dive into this futuristic world and talk about what it will look like. How will it affect our lives and culture? How will it affect the way we work and educate people? Many questions will be addressed, especially within topics like society, institutions and digital transformation, based upon the latest trends and predictions within future immersive tech.
