Start to Code Workshop
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Coding is not a rocket science!
We want to show you that coding is not as hard as TV demonstrates or people tell you. Coding is as hard as learning a new language. You already learnt English, didn’t you? You’re on the best way to be the next big coding star!
In this Workshop you will write your own code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, build your first own project and we will give you the first steps on how to start your coding career.
You just need to bring motivation, curiosity and if you want your own notebook (We will work with Visual Studio Code https://code.visualstudio.com/, please install it in that case).

Event Streaming with Kafka
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Generating insights from data can only be successful, if you have the necessary tools to ingest, store and prepare your data. Kafka is an incredibly powerful distributed transaction log system, that will help you enable data driven use cases.
We will setup a fresh Kafka cluster on your laptop using docker and then play around with it. You will learn how to run Kafka and how you can publish and consume messages. In the end, we will even run SQL queries against our events in Kafka.
Requirements for this workshop is your own laptop, an internet connection and Docker installed.
Very basic docker knowledge as well as some basic programming experience are helpful.

Build Your First Machine Learning Model
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Machine Learning saves lives: those Algorithms can spot breast cancer cells, a year before patients are diagnosed by humans. How is this possible? Machine Learning provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from data. In this workshop, we will analyze real data and train a machine learning alogrithm to predict house prices based on attributes like number of bathrooms or living space. You will write code in Python using the popular framework scikit-learn.
